Are any of my fellow wine bloggers interested in meeting up in Santa Barbara County, California for the annual Wine Bloggers’ Conference? I’m thinking about attending next summer and thought it would be awfully fun to have a ‘wordpress’ table with my virtual cohorts. All the details can be found on this link.
Another event next summer that would be awfully fun for wine-obsessed people such as ourselves is the Society of Wine Educators Conference. It is open to members and non-members alike, though with a bit higher price for non-members. Taking place in Seattle next summer, it is three days of classes, seminars, and loads of wine in the company of some very knowledgeable people. Here is the link for that event, though the final details have not, yet been posted. But the calendar from last year will give you an idea of the information that will be shared through classes and seminars.
If any of my fellow bloggers are thinking about going to either event, please leave a comment. It would be fun to get together in the three-dimensional world.

Depends on whether I’m in Brazil for the World Cup. If I go to World Cup I couldn’t make this.
For what it is worth, Richard Jennings attended this and didn’t have too kind of words for it.
Well, if the World Cup doesn’t pan out, keep it in mind. There’s also the SWE conference later in the summer.

Woot! It’s a strong ‘maybe.’ I know you’ve blogged about the bloggers conference…overall, worthwhile?
Depends on what you mean by “worth”–lots of booze and a ton of connections, but did not “learn” a heck of a lot.
I don’t anticipate being on the west coast next summer–but if you all manage to get together, I’ll definitely be wishing I was there (and therefore, present in spirit).
Well, if anything changes, come on out. I’m sure it will be loads of fun.
I’ll keep it in mind because the theme of my life is — things change.
I’d love to go . . . will have to write it in pencil, though. Gotta balance with summertime kid commitments. Salud!
Yes! Pencil it in. I know what you mean about the kids’ commitments. That’s what I’m working around, also. But I’m really hoping it works out, because the more I think about it, the more fun I’m convinced it will be…especially if a lot of us show up.

What a wonderful idea!! I would love to be in, but we’ll be spending next summer in Europe (probably May till August) so I don’t think it will work out…:(

I have been pondering it – the location can’t be beat – I just have to see if I have enough time off (and enough green) for another vacation! It sounds like so much fun!
